The Niger State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and immediate past Political Adviser to Governor Muhammad Umar Bago, Muhammad Nma Kolo, has expressed confidence that northern Nigeria will support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027.

Kolo, who holds the traditional title of Jiwon Minna, stated this in an interview in Minna, where he assessed the impact of the Renewed Hope agenda and preparations ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries.

He said the policy direction of the current administration is gaining traction across Niger State, noting that it has restored confidence among citizens.

According to him, “The message of Renewed Hope is resonating very positively with Nigerlites. It has given the people a renewed sense of confidence and inclusion in national development.”

He explained that the administration’s focus on agriculture, food security, infrastructure and youth empowerment aligns with the immediate needs of the people, particularly in rural communities.

Kolo also addressed concerns over the absence of campaign billboards and posters of the president, describing it as a deliberate decision to prioritise governance.

“President Tinubu is focused on delivering results rather than early politicking. What is ongoing now is grassroots sensitisation and engagement.

At the appropriate time, there will be organised and peaceful campaign activities,” he said.

On preparations for the APC primaries, he disclosed that the party in Niger State is strengthening its structures across the 25 local government areas to ensure effective participation.

“We are engaging party executives and delegates at the grassroots level to ensure full mobilisation.

Niger State will present a united front during the primaries,” he added.

Commenting on the economic situation and security challenges in the country, Kolo maintained that ongoing reforms would ultimately strengthen public support for the administration.

He said federal interventions in agriculture and security in Niger State are already yielding results, with improved farming activities and gradual restoration of normalcy in affected areas.

On the emergence of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), which has reportedly recorded significant membership growth, Kolo described political competition as healthy for democracy but insisted that the APC remains dominant.

“The APC is still the most structured and experienced political party in Nigeria.

“Niger State remains a stronghold, and we are confident the people will continue to support a party that has demonstrated capacity for governance,” he said.

He advised APC members in the state to remain united and avoid actions capable of causing division ahead of the primaries.

“The strength of the party lies in its unity and discipline. We must stay focused to maintain our leadership position,” he stated.

Kolo also dismissed claims that the North is not supportive of Tinubu’s second-term bid, describing such assertions as inaccurate.“The North, including Niger State, is aligned with the President’s vision.

“His administration has demonstrated commitment through key projects, appointments and policies addressing regional challenges, particularly in agriculture and security,” he said.

He expressed optimism that by 2027, the impact of the administration’s policies would be more visible, further strengthening public support.
