President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday summoned the nation’s security chiefs to an emergency meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to address the worsening security situation across the country.

The high-level meeting, held at the Aso Rock Villa, was attended by the country’s top military commanders, intelligence chiefs, and heads of various security agencies.

The emergency session focused on reviewing the prevailing security challenges facing the nation and exploring strategies to strengthen ongoing efforts to curb terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of criminal activities.

The Nations News reports that the meeting brought together key stakeholders in the nation’s security architecture to assess the current security landscape and chart a coordinated response to emerging threats.

Although details of the deliberations were not immediately made public, the meeting underscored the Federal Government’s commitment to restoring peace and ensuring the safety of lives and property across the country.

The meeting comes amid growing public concern over recent incidents of insecurity in several parts of the country, with renewed calls for more decisive actions to address the challenges.
