He described the construction of the rural roads as part of his commitment to delivering quality constituency projects to the people.

Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, Nwebonyi said the project, which is a 2-kilometre road with the first phase covering 1 kilometre, was captured under the 2025 constituency intervention programme and designed to meet modern construction standards.

According to him, the road will be constructed with concrete pavement due to the soil texture and topography of the area, stressing that the aim is to provide infrastructure that can serve the people for decades.

“We are going to construct a road that can last for 30 to 50 years,” he said.

The lawmaker said he has executed several similar projects across Ebonyi North, noting that within his three years in office, he has delivered over 10 kilometres of concrete pavement roads, more than 30 kilometres of earthworks, and several culverts and bridges across the zone.

Nwebonyi attributed his commitment to quality representation to the support and leadership of Governor Francis Nwifuru, saying, “I promised in 2023 that I was going to set a standard when we talk about representation in Ebonyi North Zone.”

He also praised the governor’s infrastructural achievements, claiming that the administration has recorded unprecedented road construction across the state.

Nwaebonyi further appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting constituency projects through national budgetary interventions.

The senator described the Amike Aba road project as an economic empowerment initiative, saying the opening of the road would improve economic activities and transform the lives of residents.
