According to him: “I said to my self, maybe I have fought many battles, and God did not want me to build this temple. I want to thank the son of David (Nwifuru) for his peaceful disposition in the governance of Ebonyi State.
“Go and check, David fought many battles. I want to confess and confirm that this son of David (Nwifuru) is a divine gift to Ebonyi state. And this means that my battles are right. And I deserve forgiveness from everyone.
“So, let it be known that all the challenges I confronted as a governor of the state, were challenges for the progress and peace of this state. And I want to assure Ebonyians and the entire Nigeria that what David could not do, the son of David (Nwifuru) is now doing it.
The Minister of works, Umahi emphasized that he has every reason to celebrate the former governor, Martin Elechi on his 83rd birthday, acknowledging the great role played by Elechi to bring him into political power years back.
“I have every reason to celebrate Chief Martin Elechi. Honestly, I was his student and still his student. I confess that I learnt administration under him.
