Eid-El-Kabir: FG orders contractor to open Abuja–Kaduna-Kano Road

The Minister of works, David Umahi on Monday, a few hours before the celebration of Eid-El-Kabir in the country, ordered a contractor, Infiouest Nigeria Limited to immediately open Abuja–Kaduna-Kano Road projects.
He said that the opening of all sections of Abuja–Kaduna-Kano Road projects will ease the movement of commuters traveling during the Eid al-Adha festive period.

Umahi made this known in a statement signed and issued to newsmen by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Francis Nweze.
The statement reads in part: “The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has directed the contractor handling the Abuja–Kaduna-Kano Road project, Infiouest Nigeria Limited to immediately open all sections of the road.
“The road should be opened to ease the movement of commuters traveling during the Eid al-Adha festive period and ensure safer and smoother journeys.
The Minister, Umahi noted that he is aware of the earlier accident that occurred along the road, which has now been completely cleared.

He further noted that: “Security agencies have also been deployed to strategic points along the road to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of road users throughout the festive season” He stressed. .
