Eid al-Kabir: NDC Reps candidate, Wakil calls for peace, unity in Nigeria

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa-Balewa federal constituency, Iliya Godiya Wakil, on Wednesday, called for peace and unity in Nigeria.

Wakil, in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Bauchi however, extended warm felicitations to Muslim Ummah on 2026 Eid el-Kabir celebration.

He said that Eid-el-Kabir is a season that reminds people of the virtues of faith, sacrifice, obedience, love, and service to humanity as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS). 

The NDC, Reps candidate, Wakil said that the significance of the sacred festival, which embodies the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, patience, and devotion to Almighty Allah, serves as a reminder of people collective responsibility towards the promotion of peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence.

“Eid El Kabir reminds us of the importance of unity, compassion, tolerance, and selfless service to humanity. It is a period for reflection, strengthening our bonds with one another, and promoting peaceful coexistence among all people regardless of differences”

“Eid al-Kabir also reminds us of the virtues of faith, obedience, sacrifice and devotion as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS). It is a sacred season that calls for love, compassion, generosity and unity among all people”

He stressed further that: “This year’s celebration is particularly significant. Despite the security challenges confronting the country, our people have continued to demonstrate remarkable courage, and patriotism. The successful conduct of recent democratic processes is a testament to our collective determination to preserve and strengthen our democracy. 

“Eid el-Kabir occupies a unique place in the moral and spiritual consciousness of Islam. It commemorates the exemplary obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), whose complete submission to the will of Allah remains one of the greatest testaments of faith in human history. 

“His steadfastness, together with the devotion and trust demonstrated by his family, continues to illuminate the path of righteousness for generations of believers”

He urged people to embrace peace, tolerance, unity, and compassion and to continue to pray for the peace of the constituency, Bauchi State and Nigeria at large, support one another, and work together towards a future of greater opportunities and shared prosperity.

Wakil, also urged all residents to remain law-abiding and to continue to cooperate with security agencies before, during, and after the Eid period in order to sustain the prevailing peace, security, and public order across the state.

He called on the good people of Bauchi State to use this solemn occasion to offer prayers to the Almighty God in other to continued guidance, protection, and mercy upon the state and the nation at large, and for enduring peace, unity, stability, and prosperity. 

“As we celebrate this sacred festival of sacrifice, obedience, love, and devotion to Almighty Allah, may this season bring peace, blessings, prosperity, and renewed hope to every home and community” he stated
