2027: Atiku, Obi should Join APC, Opposition Too Weak to Challenge Tinubu — Renewed Hope Advocacy

The Director-General of Renewed Hope People Advocacy, Alhaji Armayau Abubakar, has urged opposition leaders, including the presidential candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, and the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi, to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), insisting that the opposition lacks the strength and structure to mount a credible challenge in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking shortly after his decoration in Abuja, Abubakar said President Bola Tinubu’s achievements across the country had strengthened the APC’s position, making it difficult for opposition parties to compete.

According to him, the APC has established a dominant political structure nationwide through its control of many state governments and its majority presence in the National and State Assemblies.

“My message to the opposition is that it is time to join the winning party, the APC. Mr. President has done so much across the country, and Nigerians can see the results. The APC has continued to expand, with many governors and lawmakers under its platform,” he said.

Abubakar expressed confidence that the ruling party would secure victory in the 2027 presidential election, describing the APC as far ahead of its rivals.

He likened the APC to the Atlantic Ocean and the opposition to River Benue, saying the ruling party had built a significant political advantage ahead of the next general election.

The National Women Leader of the group, Princess Dayo Fasola, said women across the country were being mobilised to support President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

She stated that the Renewed Hope People Advocacy was committed to promoting the administration’s achievements while mobilising grassroots support nationwide.

Fasola also credited President Tinubu with advancing women’s participation in governance, describing women as a critical force in electoral success.

She argued that opposition parties lacked unity and coordination, expressing confidence that the APC would retain power in the next election.

Also speaking, the group’s National Publicity Secretary and Media Director, Prince Adepuji Olatayo Teriba, said the organisation had established structures across wards in all 774 local government areas of the country to mobilise support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 polls.

The Renewed Hope People Advocacy described itself as a grassroots movement dedicated to promoting the policies and achievements of the Tinubu administration and strengthening support for the APC ahead of the next general elections.
