Insecurity: ‘we will rescue abducted Catholic school Kids – Gov. Bago vows

The governor of Nasarawa state, Mohammed Umaru Bado has assured people of the State of the determination of his government to rescue teachers, pupils and students abducted from their school in Papiri town of Agwara local government over two weeks ago.
The Governor made the commitment in a speech to the opening of an 8 day retreat for Commissioners designate, chairmen and deputies elect of local governments and Special Advisers at Government house, Minna on Wednesday.
The Governor described the kidnap as “condemnable” adding that the incident “has left our state deeply worried”

“As the chief security officer of the state and a parent myself, I feel the pain of every mother and father anxiously waiting for the children to return home” he said before assuring that
“we are committed to the safety of the children and ensuring the security of lives and properties in the state”.
On why the retreat was Organised Governor Bago who was represented by his deputy Comrade Yakubu Garba said the state executive council to which the commissioners belong “is one of the strongest pillars of governance”, and the state relies on its ability to deliver on policy formulations, implementation and monitoring”
Therefore, the Governor said the Commissioners and other members of the Council need to be given the requisite training and exposure for them to function optimally in executing Council decisions in their various Ministries.
This Executive Retreat is not just another event on the government calendar, It is a moment of reflection, planning, and strategic alignment with renewed vigor for our shared commitment towards achieving the New Niger vision.
Bago observed that the mandate the administration has been entrusted with by the good people of Niger State demands “Servant-Leadership” which is characterized by competence, responsibility, honesty,
The Governor therefore admonished the Commissioners designate, local government chairmen and their deputies and Special Advisers to work assiduously as one family, united by a common goal to build a prosperous New Niger.
He added that “As public officials, we must lead by example, discipline, transparency, and obedience to the Rule of Law”.
In an address the Secretary to the state Government Alhaji Abubakar Usman said the forum is an opportunity for the participants to foster collaboration unity and shared purpose in their collective bid to serve the state.

“This retreat offers us a unique platform to align our strategies, plan actionable steps, and deepen our understanding of how to deliver governance that truly improves lives, Usman declared.
