Otti’s New Abia Project Wins Fresh Applause in Houston

— Diaspora Abians Rally Behind Governor’s Scorecard, Transformation Agenda

HOUSTON, USA — The transformation agenda of Abia State Governor, Alex Chioma Otti, received a major boost in Houston, United States, at the weekend as Abians of Ngwa origin rallied around the governor’s administration during the 2026 convention of the Ngwa National Association, USA (NNAUSA).

The engagement provided Otti an opportunity to present the scorecard of his administration and highlight what he described as key milestones recorded under his New Abia agenda in the areas of infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, transportation, industrial development and human capital.

The governor’s presentation generated considerable interest among members of the Ngwa community, who expressed enthusiasm over developments in their home state and the administration’s efforts to address longstanding infrastructural and institutional challenges.

The Houston meeting also brought to the fore the growing role of the Abia Diaspora in the development agenda of the state.

The Otti administration has continued to position Abians abroad not only as contributors through remittances, but as strategic partners capable of providing investments, expertise, technology, professional networks and global connections.

The administration’s emphasis on transparency, accountability and prudent management of public resources also featured prominently in the interaction, with supporters saying the approach has helped to strengthen confidence in government.
