Nwoye Tasks Enugu APC Candidates on Unity, Synergy ahead of 2027 Polls

As preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum, the Deputy National Chairman, South, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ben Nwoye, has charged the party’s candidates in Enugu State to reconcile their differences.

He tasked them to work in synergy with the party leadership to deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Peter Mbah.

Nwoye gave the charge on Monday at a one-day strategic retreat for key party officials and APC candidates from Enugu State held at the International Conference Centre, Enugu.

The APC chieftain urged the candidates, from the ward to national levels, to mainstream the party’s structure in all their activities and ensure that the APC remains visible, organized, audible and united across the state.

He said the party could only achieve electoral success through unity, discipline, coordinated action and a collective commitment to the APC’s objectives.

“Reconcile differences, mainstream party structures in all activities, and ensure that the APC remains visible, audible, organized and united in every corner of Enugu State.

“Let us rise as one united family, determined to work, determined to win, and determined to deliver responsible leadership to our people,” he said.

Nwoye declared that the period for hesitation was over, stressing that the party needed coordinated action to mobilize voters ahead of the 2027 elections.

“The time for hesitation is over. The time for coordinated action is now. Together, with discipline, courage, truth and unity, we shall succeed,” he stated.

He also charged the candidates to consistently defend the achievements of President Tinubu and Governor Mbah with facts, discipline and consistency, while taking the message of the party to every part of the state.

According to him, APC candidates and supporters should intensify grassroots mobilization through radio and television programmes, jingles, interviews, community announcements, meetings, door-to-door campaigns and other direct engagements with voters.

He further tasked them with educating the electorate on election-day procedures, including where to vote and how to identify and vote for the APC’s broom symbol.

Nwoye said the retreat must not end as another political gathering where speeches were made and forgotten, but should produce concrete action points, improved coordination and renewed confidence among candidates, party officials and support groups.

He urged every candidate, party officer and committed APC member to return immediately to the polling units, wards, communities and local government areas to commence aggressive mobilization.

The retreat, themed “Building Synergy for Effective Mobilization, Issue-Based Campaigning and Electoral Success,” was organized by the Office of the Chief of Staff to the Enugu State Governor, Victor Udeh, and hosted by the Office of the APC Deputy National Chairman, South.

Responding, Udeh said the retreat was organized to re-energize APC candidates and officials ahead of the 2027 elections.

He charged the candidates to campaign vigorously for President Tinubu and Governor Mbah, arguing that Enugu State had sufficient reasons to support and deliver the President at the polls.

According to him, the cordial relationship between the Enugu State Government and the Federal Government under President Tinubu and Governor Mbah had benefited the state significantly, particularly in infrastructural development.

Also speaking, the Secretary to the Enugu State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, called for the delivery of all APC candidates in the 2027 elections, from the top to the bottom of the ballot.

Onyia described the party’s campaign strategy as “one ticket, one message,” urging members to put aside personal rivalries and focus on the collective success of the party.

He said the retreat was “serious business” rather than a mere ceremony, challenging the candidates to take the achievements of President Tinubu and Governor Mbah to every nook and cranny of the state.

“We must set aside our rivalry for us to succeed,” Onyia said.

Other speakers at the event included Senator Osita Ngwu, representing Enugu West Senatorial District; Senator Ikeje Asogwa, representing Enugu North Senatorial District; and the Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, among other party leaders and stakeholders.
