Atiku Support Group berates N’Assembly over Ningi’s suspension

The Campaign Support Group for Atiku 2023, Enugu State chapter has condemned in totality the suspension of Senator Abdul Ningi representing Bauchi Central in the Red Chamber for three months over his comment on alleged budget padding by the National Assembly.

The support group headed by the coordinator, Michael Chukwuebuka Nwankwo condemned and disowned the malicious action of the National Assembly against Ningi, saying that “he is a decent man and did not deserve such action.”

Nwankwo, in a statement signed and issued to newsmen at the weekend, said that Ningi represented his constituency very well and Nigeria in general, and should not be vilified, but should be commended for speaking against injustice to Nigerians.

The statement reads in part: “Sen.Ningi is an active man with decency of character and is dedicated to serve 

his constituent and Nigeria with honesty, transparency, humility and humanity to the best of his ability in making sure that the dividends of democracy is at the door step of every Nigerian citizen and that is why he cried out over man inhumanity to man on budget 

padding of 3.7 trillion and stand to bear the cross for the good of the citizen as he was suspended by the National Assembly for three months. 

“It is undesirable for a man to die because he said the truth. Sen. Ningi is a good leader and has made a remarkable quality representation to his constituency and Nigeria in general by speaking on the secret behind 2024 budget padding.

“The voice of Sen.Ningi is for the good of Nigeria and at the consideration of 

Mercy on the poor living standard of the masses,” the statement stated.

The leader of the group also noted that Sen. Ningi did not commit any offence or crime in telling Nigerians the position on Irregularity in the 2024 budget padding “as he acted in good faith, conscience and justice with fairness.”

Nwankwo maintained that  Sen. Ningi has made a good point and a justifiable bold step for good governance, adding that, “we commend his courage. We hereby call for Reinstatement of the High Ranking Senator and pray, May ALLAH GIVE HIM THE STRENGTH TO WITHSTAND THEM.” The group stressed.
