Visas quest: Nigerians warned against fake immigration agents

A Canada-based immigration consultancy, Odogwu Immigration Services, has advised Nigerians, especially young people to prioritize developing their skills and potential rather than relying on political patronage for advancement.

The firm also encouraged citizens not to lose hope in Nigeria, urging them to remain committed to contributing to the nation’s growth and development.

This message was delivered during an immigration awareness event held over the weekend in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

The event attracted a large number of young Nigerians interested in international travel and relocation opportunities.

Speaking at the event, a representative of the firm, Mr. Stanley Okechukwu Ukah, emphasized that although relocating abroad can present valuable opportunities, Nigerians should not give up on their country’s future.

He noted that meaningful progress can still be achieved through dedication, hard work, and active participation in national development.

However, he cautioned that individuals who choose to travel abroad must remain vigilant to avoid falling victim to fraudulent visa agents and travel scams.

According to the consultancy, prospective travelers should watch out for common warning signs such as: Promises of guaranteed visas quests for large upfront payments without proper documentation
Lack of a verifiable office address
Refusal to provide official application tracking details.

The event featured interactive sessions where participants asked questions, shared personal experiences, and received guidance on how to pursue immigration safely without falling victim to fraud.
