By Yagana Ali Yola
A new faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been inaugurated in Adamawa State, with former Secretary to the Government of the federation, SGF, Mr. Babachir David Lawal, serving as a key figure in the party’s leadership.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several high-profile individuals, including former Governor Bindow Jibrilla and Senator Abbo.

The new ADC faction in Adamawa State is led by a transition committee headed by Sadiq Dasin, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives and onetime speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly.
The committee’s mandate is to guide the party and prepare it for future elections.
During the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Babachir David Lawal emphasized the importance of discipline, respect for order, and due process within the party.
He warned against any attempts to undermine the party’s structure or override the authority of the transition committee.
Several key figures have expressed support for the new ADC faction, including Senator Ilshaku Ilaish Abbo, who commended the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, for his efforts in building the party.
Senator Abbo emphasized that the party is committed to providing a platform for youths to participate in politics and contest for various positions.
The party leaders have called on youths to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and participate in the electoral process.
They also urged the people of Adamawa State to join the ADC and support its efforts to build a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
While some supporters have expressed enthusiasm for the new ADC faction, others have raised concerns about the party’s prospects, citing the absence of key figures such as the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar from the inauguration ceremony.
Some supporters have also questioned the leadership of Babachir David Lawal, citing past experiences with the Labour Party.
The new ADC faction in Adamawa State faces challenges as it seeks to establish itself and build momentum for future elections.
However, with the support of key figures and the commitment of its leaders, the party is poised to make an impact in the state’s political landscape.
