Trade fair: Niger to boost Agro allied businesses, food security

The 21st edition of Niger State National trade fair with focus on enhancing Agro Business and investment for food security is billed to kick off on Monday the 20th of May in Minna.
The President of Niger chamber of commerce, industry, mines and Agriculture Bisi Adeyeni and the Director General, Adamu Salihu spoke in an interview on the level of preparation for a hitch free exercise.
According to the Director General, this year’s Niger National trade fair has its theme as ” Commercial Agriculture as the major contributor to Nigeria GDP and employment is carefully chosen to reflect the reality of the time.
The Chamber Director General disclosed that, most North Central states such as Benue, Plateau, Nasarawa and the Federal capital territory have indicated interest by reaching out to us.
He noted that States such as Lagos , Kano, Sokoto are attracted to the fair due to the promotion of Agro allied businesses and the deliberate effort towards industrialization of the Northern region through Agricultural revolution.
” We were able to attract prosperous States like Lagos because they want to partner Niger in the area of rice production and milling.

” Other big brands such as Dangote group and key governmental organizations both at the Federal and state level are preparing to attend the 11day Fiesta.
” The truth is we have been doing our under ground work for a successful outing since February of this year, we are therefore expecting a bumper harvest of participants “
On the curfew that is still in place in Minna metropolis, the Trade fair organizers said the measure has stabilized the security situation of the town even, as he assured of a water tight security for all participants.
“Many have been hearing of the developmental strides of the Governor, some have indicated interest to come and see for themselves.
The opening ceremony of the fair is Scheduled for Thursday 22nd of May at the Minna trade fair complex and the Minister of Agriculture, Sen. Abubarkar Kyari is to declare
