Muslim Council vows to secure release of inmates, donates food items

The Muslim Council of Adamawa State (MCAD) has reached out to inmates in the state’s correctional centers, bringing hope and relief to those in need.
The chairman of the council, Mallam Gambo Jika, spoke to newsmen during their visit to three correctional facilities – Yola, Jimeta, and Yolde Pate Correctional Centers, however distributed essential items, including food and non-food items, to the inmates.
The visit, which took place on Thursday, was part of the council’s efforts to show empathy and support to the inmates during the holy month of Ramadan.

Jika expressed concern about the high number of young people incarcerated, emphasizing the importance of rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
He encouraged the inmates to seek personal transformation through prayer and self-reflection, especially during the last ten days of Ramadan.
The council’s humanitarian gesture did not stop at donations.
They also facilitated the release of eight inmates from the three correctional centers, offering them a second chance at freedom and reintegration into society.
The released inmates were overwhelmed with gratitude, thanking the council for securing their freedom and pledging to become law-abiding citizens.
The Muslim Council’s efforts have brought joy and hope to the inmates and their families, demonstrating the importance of compassion and kindness in our society.
