Gov Nwifuru partners groups to empower Ebonyians in skill acquisition

Ebonyi state government led by governor, Francis Nwifuru has vowed to partner any group or organization that is ready to empower the citizens of the state through various skill acquisitions.

The Commissioner for Skill Development and Job Creation, Mr. Elijah Okey Oko Udu made this known while addressing a team of Industrial Training Fund (ITF) during in a courtesy visit that took place at his office, Ochiudo centenary city Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State.

He said that skill is the most essential thing and one of the major thing that the governor, Francis Nwifuru wants to prioritize in his administration.

Udu said that the governor likes to embark on projects that will be beneficial to the people of the state, especially projects that are inline with his mantra, ‘the Peoples charter of needs’.

He emphasized that skill acquisition can be diversified through Agriculture, especially in the present economic challenges in the country, to boost the economy, and make the citizens of the state to be involved in food production.

The Commissioner, Udu encouraged everybody in the state to have knowledge of a particular skill and shouldn’t be waiting for government.

He assured other partners that the governor is ready to support them to make sure that Ebonyians benefits in skill acquisition.

Responding, the leader of the team, Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Pastor Stanley Chukwu said that the aim of their visit, is to partner with Ebonyi State government through Skill Acquisition programme, to ensure that citizens of the State can be trained and empowered in various skills like Pop, Fashion and Design, Catherine, Fabrication and Tiling.

He noted that they have up to 50 Skills that the people of the state will be trained on, adding that the training will make the people of the state to be self reliance, especially those who don’t have something doing.

Chukwu assured the governor, Francis Nwifuru of using professionals to train the citizens on any skill they preferred.

He said that ITF has so far trained over four thousand Ebonyians in various skills and still willing to train and empower as many that is ready.
