2027: EBOTRANS GM Rallies Ebonyi Women for Nwifuru’s Second-Term Bid

The General Manager of Ebonyi State Transport Company (EBOTRANS), Mrs Jennifer Igwe, has pledged to mobilize women across the state to support the re-election bid of Governor Francis Nwifuru in the 2027 governorship election.

Igwe made the commitment while speaking with journalists at the grand finale of the 2026 August Meeting for Ebonyi women held at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki.

She described the governor’s wife, Mrs Uzoamaka Mary-Maudiline Nwifuru, as a caring mother who, according to her, had demonstrated concern for the welfare and empowerment of women across the state.

Igwe said the governor’s wife had “put smiles on the faces” of many women through various empowerment initiatives, particularly those implemented through her foundation, Better Education and Women Empowerment (BEWO).

She said the initiatives had made many women in Ebonyi feel supported and valued, adding that the First Lady’s interventions had strengthened her relationship with women across the state.

The EBOTRANS boss therefore urged Ebonyi women to reciprocate the gesture by supporting the administration of Governor Nwifuru at the polls in 2027.

According to her, women constitute a significant voting bloc and must use their numerical strength to determine the outcome of the forthcoming election.

Igwe disclosed that she and other women leaders were already preparing to mobilize women in Ishielu Local Government Area, particularly Ezzagu, for the election.

She said the women of Ishielu were prepared to vote massively for Governor Nwifuru in recognition of what she described as his administration’s interventions and policies targeted at women.

“Ishielu women are ready to cast their votes for our governor because of what His Excellency has done for women in Ishielu. We are ready to return a man who has women at heart,” she said.

Igwe also reaffirmed her support for the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that she and the women she represents in Ishielu would work for the success of the party in the 2027 election.
