FJDP distributes dignity, hygiene kits to households in Benue IDP camp
From Attah Ede, Makurdi
The Foundation for Justice, Development and Peace (FJDP), a humanitarian arm of the Catholic Diocese of Makurdi, has distributed dignity and hygiene kits to the most vulnerable households in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Makurdi, Benue state.
The organization had embarked on data capturing among the Yelewata IDPs residing at the International Market IDP Camp in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
The kits were distributed through the “Benue IDP Response Project” being completed by FJDP, a programme funded by Save the Children International, (SCI).
The Coordinator FJDP, Rev. Fr. Philip Apuu, said the the kits aimed to enhance the well-being vulnerable populations by promoting good hygiene practices among them.
He also noted that the kits would reduce the risk of communicable diseases, while restoring dignity amid displacement.

He said the activity targeted households with women, children, elderly persons, and Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWDs), who are particularly vulnerable in IDP settings.
Fr Apuu said FJDP remains grateful to Save the Children International for the opportunity to improve the lives of IDPs in Benue.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to FJDP and Save the Children International for their timely response in making lives easy for them.
