Represented by the Provost of the College of Medicine of the university, Uche Onwudiegwu, the Vice-Chancellor said the faculty possessed the requisite manpower, facilities and enabling environment necessary to nurture students into accomplished legal professionals.

He consequently urged the students to take their studies seriously and avoid unnecessary distractions, stressing that the study of law required dedication, discipline and sustained concentration.

Describing the Law Dinner as a commendable initiative, Nebo noted that the event provided a valuable platform for mentorship, orientation and interaction between students and accomplished legal practitioners.

In his remarks, the Chancellor of the university and Bishop on the Niger, Owen Nwokolo, reminded the students that the dinner was more than a social gathering, describing it instead as an opportunity for reflection on what he called “the noble profession.”

According to him, the study and practice of law transcend the mastery of statutes, precedents and courtroom procedures. “At its core are justice, truth, fairness and service to humanity,” he said.
