‘No opposition can stop Gov. Nwifuru’s governance till 2031 – Ebonyi LG pension boss, Nwonu insists

The executive secretary of local government staff pension board, Ebonyi State, Mr. Emeka Nwonu has ahead of the forthcoming general election in the country tasked stakeholders of Ezza Ezekuna to shun anyone that would lure them to opposition parties.

Nwonu insisted that the governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru must complete his eight years tenure like previous governors, adding that not even the devil can stop him (Nwifuru) from governing the state till 2031.

The executive secretary, Nwonu who made this known in a statement signed and issued to The Nations News Nigeria, warned that no self centered politician should take Ezza Ezekuna to the opposition parties again, especially in the forthcoming 2027 election in the state.

The statement reads in part: “Ezza Ezekuna, no one should take you to the opposition again. It is only governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru we know till 2031, and not even the devil can dare him. 

“Not even your own son (s) should take you to the opposition again. It is not in doubt that the elder brother of ours whom we respect so much, has now been possessed by an unidentified spirit because he was jerked out of government. 

“He has gone in the way of creating disaffection between our people and the government again against 2027 general elections, just as he misled our people into Labour Party and APGA in 2023 general elections respectively. 

“This is a person that can be traced to so many atrocities when he was in government, but because he chose worldly things over the sincere service to the people, he was booted out of the system by his erstwhile political benefactor under the previous administration.

Nwonu further warned the said son of Ezza Ezekuna whose name, he could not mention, to desist from carrying out social critic, targeted at undermining the state government led by governor Francis Nwifuru, “Today, he has become a self styled social critic and mouthpiece of the masses. 

“He defended government at all levels when he was part of it. He never saw anything bad, stringent, obnoxious and ill people when he was a full part of the system, but he cannot now sieve lies from reality as he is no longer there. 

“To him, he is speaking for the people as well as building his Facebook profile. I’m very surprised how he so soon forgot history, and suddenly turned to the spokesman of Ezza clan immediately he is edged out from the government. 

“It is still very fresh in our minds the role he played during the establishment of airport at Onueke. He nearly had gunned down anyone from Ezza clan that opposed that idea. 

“You may recall that the majority of the Ezza people as of that time did not know or understand the economic gains of the airport being situated in their land, the reason they opposed it. But this man insulted the people of Ezza nation, deceived and forced others into accepting what he saw as a government policy. 

“I remember that the entirety of Ezza people was angry with his stand in Ezza-Ezilo crises, according to them, he was on the side of the government against his own people because he was gaining from the then government. He facilitated the arrest and detention of our people, and engaged in several clandestine activities against his own people because he was personally reaping from the government. 

“He was in the House of Assembly for terms and was a principal officer all these periods, but today, there is no record of one manual borehole in any part of his constituency, or any culvert he constructed even when much money flew as constituency allowance. 

“Today, he attacks the government and lures our people into the opposition. Very disgusting that these innocent people believe him, thinking that he speaks for them. Will they not know and understand that he is doing all these things because he is no longer in government, tomorrow, he may be called upon, and he will leave them behind? 

“Enough is enough, our people should be wiser. We have been deceived enough. I will tell you how our brothers from the other side of the state led Ezza people into the opposition in 1979, and they went behind to support Jim Nwobo. Today, our problem can be traced to that. Expect it in next essay” the statement reads.
