Enugu House of Assembly passes 2025 appropriation bill into law

Enugu State House of Assembly on Tuesday passed into law the 2025 budget appropriation bill of N971, 84 billion presented by the governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah.
The Chairman of the finance and appropriation bill Committee, Anthony Nwankwo representing Awgu South constituency, presenting the report of the committee said that the committee engaged the ministries, department and agencies for budget defense.
Nwankwo stated that the committee after engaging the MDA’s observed that there is no amendment found in capital and recurrent expenditure as presented by the governor.
The committee recommended and encouraged the house members to approve the bill and give it accelerated passage into law so that their collective objective in the job will turn positive.
He commended his colleagues for their enthusiasm and dedication to their job.
The Speaker, Enugu State House of Assembly in his speech after passing the bill advised all the house committee Chairman to make sure that they take their oversight function very seriously.
He noted that they have given the Executive the authority to use the state resources and urge them to make sure that Enugu citizens get value for their money.
