The Niger State Police commissioner, Adamu Abdullahi Elleman has vowed to increase the command’s efforts in the fight against thuggery and unrest within Minna metropolis.
The Nations News Nigeria reports that the cases of thuggery and unrest, recently led to the lost of some innocent lives in the state.
The Commissioner, Elleman who held a close door meeting with the hoteliers at the command’s headquarters, Dutsen-Kura Minna, emphasized that the partnership is aimed at stemming the tide of thuggery challenges in the State.

The Commissioner who spoke through the command’s PPRO, SP Wasiu Abiodun said that the hoteliers were invited for an interaction on ways to stem the menace of thuggery that has been disturbing the city.
He noted that some of the miscreants committing thuggery in the State are not from Minna, and they usually commit these vices with the use of tricycles and motorcycles, robbing unsuspecting members of the public of their valuables and causing injuries or even death.
The Police Commissioner asserted that mostly, proceeds of the crime are being used to lodge in one hotel or the other, thereby getting shelter from the hoteliers knowingly or unknowingly.
CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman said he has come to assist the hoteliers in their business and to assist the State in the area of protection of lives and property.
He charged the members to assist security agencies in sanitising the city by providing intelligence, observing their customers and should not accept more persons in a room.
The Command urged them to assist the Police in arresting thugs and miscreants disturbing the peace in the city.
“A lot of the miscreants have been arrested, including those who committed culpable homicide recently.
He asserted that there is no infringement on anyone’s right, because this effort is in the interest of security of the State, and that every human rights has limitations, most especially when it affects the rights of other persons; such as robbing people of their valuables, causing injuries on innocent persons, and even causing unnecessary loss of life.”
The hoteliers appreciated the efforts of the Commissioner of Police and assured the command of their support and cooperation. They also used the opportunity to tender some of their challenges with security agencies.
