UNICEF Beg Emirs, Traditional Rulers To Mobilize Children For Polio Immunization In Bauchi

The United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) on Friday begs the Emirs, Traditional and Community leaders of Bauchi State to mobilize children ahead of the April 24 Polio Immunization in the State. 

The UNICEF Chief of Bauchi field office, Dr. Nuzhat Rafique said this in a courtesy call 

to the palace of the Emir of Dass. Said Bauchi State is the lowest in terms of polio Immunization. 

She said that UNICEF is doing everything possible to make sure that children in the state survive from polio disease. 

According to the UNICEF Bauchi Chief Field Office, Nuzhat Rafique said that “This the last opportunity to eradicate polio Immunization in Nigeria, after this if you are not able to do it, there is going to be any support from the global sector “

She further said that  “This is do or die case now, that we can do it or leave our children to die with polio disease, which we can not afford to do that “

The UNICEF Bauchi Chief Field Office, Nuzhat Rafique begs the Emir of Dass to lead the other emirs, the traditional and community leaders in mobilizing children from 0-59 Months ahead of the April 24 polio Immunization. 

In his part, the Emir of Dass,  Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman thanked the UNICEF Bauchi field office for the visitation. 

The Emir of Dass who is the Chairman Bauchi State Emirate committee on Health and also Co-Chairman of the state task force on Primary Health Care said that they will do all the necessary to mobilize children ahead of the polio Immunization.

He said that they will not only mobilize children for the polio Immunization but also go round and monitor the Immunization in the whole 3 zones of Bauchi South, North and Earth that formed the State. 

According to the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman said that “We’ll do our base to mobilize children for the Immunization that is coming up on April 25 in other children in the State to look good”
