2027: Fintiri Moves to Reconcile APC Factions

….Declares ‘No Victor, No Vanquished’

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has declared that there will be “no victor and no vanquished” in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, as the party intensifies efforts to reconcile aggrieved members ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Fintiri made the declaration at an APC stakeholders’ meeting held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Yola, where he called on party members to bury their differences and work together to strengthen the party ahead of the elections.

He said the reconciliation initiative was particularly targeted at aspirants who contested the party’s primary elections but failed to secure tickets, stressing that losing a primary should not mark the end of their political relevance.

According to him, the experience, influence and contributions of all aspirants remain important to the growth of the APC, urging party leaders to ensure that members who feel aggrieved are properly engaged, recognised and accommodated.

The governor warned that unresolved internal disagreements could weaken the party’s electoral prospects, stressing that members must place the collective interest of the APC above personal ambitions and grievances.

Fintiri particularly appealed to former councillors, political leaders and other stakeholders to support the reconciliation and mobilisation efforts, noting that the APC would need a united structure from the grassroots to the state level to succeed in 2027.

He also assured party faithful that opportunities would continue to be created for members to participate actively in the affairs of the party, while urging them to remain committed, disciplined and focused on the larger political objective.

Earlier, the state APC Chairman, Alhaji Hamza Bello Madagali, said the meeting was convened to strengthen the party and provide a platform for leaders and members to resolve differences. 

He assured members of fairness and equal treatment, saying the leadership was committed to carrying everyone along.

Madagali also assured former Governor of Adamawa State, Senator Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow, who recently returned to the APC, of fairness and equal treatment, while urging all aggrieved members to embrace reconciliation.

Bindow, in his remarks, commended the developmental projects being executed by Governor Fintiri across the state and urged APC leaders to reach out to people in every nook and cranny of Adamawa.

 He called on members to put aside personal interests and unite for the development of the state.

Also speaking, the North-East Vice Chairman of the APC, Idris Shuaibu, said the party’s leadership at the national, state and local government levels was determined to work together to secure victory for the party in the 2027 elections.

The stakeholders’ meeting ended with renewed calls for reconciliation, unity and mobilisation, as APC leaders urged members to look beyond the disputes arising from the primary elections and focus on building a stronger political force ahead of 2027.
