Adamawa Govt approves N11.4b for Development Projects

The Adamawa State Executive Council has approved contracts worth N11.4 billion for various development projects, aimed at improving the lives of residents and enhancing the state’s infrastructure.
The projects include the construction of a new National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) permanent orientation camp, health facilities, water supply schemes, and electricity infrastructure.
The commissioner of information and strategy James Iliya disclosed this to journalists shortly after the state executive council meeting.
The construction of the new NYSC camp at Malkohi in Yola South Local Government Area is one of the flagship projects, with a budget allocation of N7.7 billion.
The project has been divided into 21 lots and will be handled by 21 contractors. Upon completion, the camp will enable the government to relocate NYSC activities from the current site in Girei to Malkohi.
The state government has also approved contracts for the remodeling and upgrading of Cottage Hospitals in Gulak and Guyuk.
The Gulak Cottage Hospital project is worth N1.5 billion and is expected to be completed within 52 weeks. The Guyuk Cottage Hospital project (Phase II) is worth over N693 million and is also expected to be completed within 52 weeks.
In addition to the health projects, the government has approved contracts for the upgrade of the Guyuk Water Supply Scheme and the rehabilitation of electricity supply at Bahuli in Mubi North Local Government Area.

The Guyuk Water Supply Scheme project is worth over N499 million and is expected to be completed within three months.
The electricity rehabilitation project has been allocated N117 million and is expected to be completed within three months.
Iliya said the government has also approved a contract for the procurement of drugs for the State Medicine Distribution Centre, Kofare, worth over N499 million. The supply is expected to be completed within a few weeks.
The Adamawa State Government’s commitment to developing the state’s infrastructure and improving the lives of its residents is evident in the approval of these contracts.
The projects are expected to enhance the state’s health, water, and electricity infrastructure, and provide a better environment for residents to live and work.
The government’s efforts to improve the state’s infrastructure and provide essential services to its residents is a welcome development.
