2027: Group urges Yahaya to Contest for Bogoro House of Assembly Seat

A group known as Visionary Youth in politics on Tuesday called on Yahaya Sumi to contest and represent the people of Bogoro constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, come 2027 general election.

The Chairman of the group, Shem Istifanus said that the time has come for the people to make an honest choice by supporting a candidate of integrity, good character, and a sound track record, someone who reflects the dignity and aspirations of the people.

Shem who made this known in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Bauchi, said that Sumi is capable enough to replace the current member representing the constituency, Musa Wakili Nakwada of the People’s Democratic Party PDP come 2027 general election in the state.

He further said that after deep research and long-term consideration, they realized that the constituency needs someone who possesses integrity and honesty, upholds sound religious and political values, has a proven history of credible leadership, Is well-known and connected to the people, and understands their struggles.

“We want the party leadership to note that the people of Bogoro constituency unanimously call on Honorable Yahaya Sumi to accept their request to run for the seat. 

The group inferred that Yahaya Sumi is the candidate who embodies the qualities, and thus represents the community’s hope and vision to serve as the member representing the good people of Bogoro constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, come 2027.

He said that Sumi remained the most credible leader. adding that his commitment and visibility had kept the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bogoro to remain alive.

“Yahaya Sumi has consistently carried the party membership across all the 13 ward that formed the constituency. If he gets the ticket, the APC, ADC and other political parties will be history in Bogoro”

According to the group said that “In 2011, Sumi contested but along the line the party stakeholders beg him to exercise patience for another candidate, which he accepted that because he so much respect the decision that party took then”

Adding that Sumi has exercise patience enough that time has come for him to be the flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in Bogoro to come 2027.

He said that if Honorable Sumi will be given chance to rule in 2027, he will make sure that farmers get enough fertilizer at the appropriate time in other food to be available in the constituency.
