The Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment, Silas Agara, has highlighted the economic opportunities embedded in the Sisinbaki Carnival, particularly for agricultural development.
Speaking at the 9th Annual Sisinbaki Carnival, organized by Jeremiah Umaru, member representing Akwanga, Wamba, and Nasarawa Eggon Federal Constituency yesterday, Agara said the event offers a platform to enhance agricultural productivity.
“If the locals leverage the abundance of crops showcased during this event, we could see significant improvements in agricultural productivity,” Agara stated during the event held in Wamba Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The Sisinbaki Carnival, renowned for its vibrant display of traditional masquerades, dance performances, and colorful cultural regalia, attracts dignitaries, politicians, and cultural enthusiasts from across the country.
The event celebrates the rich cultural heritage of Nasarawa State while fostering unity among diverse communities.
Jeremiah Umaru, who initiated the carnival upon his election to the National Assembly, described it as a platform for promoting cultural heritage and unity in diversity. “This event is a testament to the beauty of our culture and the strength of our togetherness,” Umaru noted.
Agara, impressed by the festivities, emphasized the carnival’s dual impact on cultural preservation and economic stimulation.
“The carnival not only showcases our cultural heritage but also holds the promise of stimulating agricultural value for rural dwellers in Sisinbaki and, by extension, Nasarawa State,” he said.
The carnival’s ability to attract national attention underscores its role in preserving cultural traditions and encouraging economic growth, particularly in agriculture.
“As the celebrations grow in prominence, they continue to serve as a beacon for cultural pride and economic opportunity” he added.
