Kogi Assembly will be frequent with oversight functions in 2025- Ochidi

The Chairman, standing committee on health and social services in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Ochidi Usman Shehu says the hallow chamber will frequent its oversight functions in 2025.
Ochidi stated this on Monday in Lokoja during the budget defence by the State Minister of Health held at the Assembly complex.
The Kogi Assembly lawmaker solicited for a high level of cooperation and unity from Kogites to move the Health Sector to the next level of development.
“On this note, I also wish to sound a note of warning to all agencies and parastatals that will not conform with the developmental agenda of Ahmed Usman Ododo and that of 8th Assembly, under leadership of Alh Umar Aliyu Yusuf, for granted.
“We the Committee have resolved to be frequent with our oversight function in the year 2025. Let see ourselves as partners in progress that are saddled with the responsibilities of making the health sector of Kogi State in meeting the global best practices”he stated.
Earlier, the Acting Provost, Kogi State College of Health Science and Technology Idah Sanitarian Umar Anataku Shaibu, argued that the institution is facing challenges ranging from lack of perimeter fencing, lack of computer based centers for examination and lectures, bad road network, lack of administrative block and entrepreneurship development center.
He stressed that there is a need for the Government to employ professionals, and buy adequate classrooms to carry out their academic activities.
“The government has been trying a lot for us in the area of accreditation of courses. They have aided us and we are able to secure true accreditation from the National Board for Technical Education, (NBTE) for two Higher National Diploma courses led by our amiable Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo who funded the program and by God grace we have secured accreditation.
“It has not been so since 1976. For the very first time, our Students will turn out to go for National Youth Service Corp, (NYSC) Program”.
