Hunger Protest: citizens desert streets, shutdown businesses. as shops, govt. Offices lockdown in C’River

As major states in Nigeria witnessed violence protest occasioned by the “End Bad Governance / hunger” protest, the situation in cross river state seems to be a bit different as Government has been able to demobilize protesters

In Calabar, the State Capital, residents seems to have shunned violent protest, but decided to stay at home for fear of being attacked by hoodlums 

 Monitoring the situations in Calabar,it was gathered that shops, business premises were under luck while Government offices were also not opening for duties and most major street at the state Capital looked deserted except  heavy present of combined security team of the military and the police who were patrolling the city of Calabar 

At the three major market in the Calabar metropolis, scanty population were found buying and selling though not busy as during normal situation

But the APC party secretariat was very lively as some members of the party were seen in preparation for the solidarity rally for Tinubu and Otu though did not hold due to the rain that disrupted some of the activities 

The State secretary of APC in cross river state, Patrick Asikpo Okon who spoke to journalists in his office said every body feels the hardship main that it is the sacrifice for the better future for Nigeria and our children stressing that the president means well for the country 

He called on Nigerians to support the present Government of Tinubu so that he can deliver on the gains of Democracy
