The Niger State Sports Commission (NSSC) has congratulated Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso on his appointment as the Chairman of Niger Tornadoes Football Club, describing the development as a timely step towards repositioning the club for greater success.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Commission, Ambassador Danjuma Abdul Masu, the NSSC said Kuso’s appointment reflects confidence in his leadership ability, administrative experience, and commitment to the development of sports in Niger State.

The Commission noted that the appointment comes at a crucial time following the club’s recent poor performances, which have generated concerns among football stakeholders and supporters across the state.
According to the statement, the need to restore stability, improve results, and chart a new course for the club necessitated the emergence of a new leadership structure.
“Your appointment is a testament to your outstanding leadership qualities, wealth of experience, and unwavering commitment to the growth of sports in Niger State,” the statement said.
The NSSC expressed optimism that under Kuso’s leadership, Niger Tornadoes FC would witness renewed vigour, improved administration, and stronger performances in domestic competitions.
The Commission further stated that it looks forward to a productive partnership with the new chairman in promoting football development, nurturing young talents, and enhancing the image of Niger State through sporting excellence.
Hon. Masu assured Kuso of the Commission’s support and cooperation, while praying for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance as he assumes the responsibility of leading one of the state’s foremost football clubs.

The management and staff of the Niger State Sports Commission wished the new chairman a successful and impactful tenure, expressing confidence that his stewardship would help restore the club’s glory and strengthen its competitiveness in Nigerian football.
