2027: APC Conducts Reps Primaries in Nasarawa, Declares Winners in 4 Constituencies
From Abel Zwanke, Lafia
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared winners in four House of Representatives primary elections conducted across Nasarawa State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Chairman of the APC House of Representatives Primary Election Committee, Musa Shuaibu Guri, announced the results on Sunday in Lafia, saying delays experienced in announcing some results were caused by difficult terrain and security concerns in parts of the state.
Addressing party officials, security agencies and journalists, Guri said the committee avoided exposing its personnel to danger by travelling at night in areas with security challenges.

“There was a little delay due to issues of terrain, and yesterday in some areas where there are little security challenges, we cannot risk our staff to start going at night,” he said.
Declaring the result for Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency, Guri said Mohammed Al-Bashir Babae Rima emerged winner after polling 31,796 votes to defeat other contestants.
According to him, Ahmed Wadah Ekaka scored 1,888 votes, while Abdullahi Jibril Alassi got 3,728 votes and Ali Abdul Mumin Muhammad polled 9,039 votes.
“Mohammed Al-Bashir Babae Rima has satisfied the requirements of APC constitution and guidelines, and scored the highest number of votes, and is hereby declared the winner of the primary election,” Guri stated.
In Akwanga/Wamba/Nasarawa Eggon Federal Constituency, Tony Bala Sharma emerged victorious with 38,333 votes, defeating Jeremiah Umaru who scored 4,061 votes.
Guri said Shama “has satisfied the requirements of APC constitution and guidelines, and scored the highest number of votes,” and was therefore returned elected as the party’s candidate.
For Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency, Daniel Ogazi clinched victory after polling the highest votes in the contest.
Other aspirants in the race included Mohamed Yakubu Dukou who scored 316 votes, Mohamed Nourain Abdoulaye Adamou with 769 votes, Joseph M. Koura who polled 1,429 votes and Mehra Musa with 1,384 votes.
Guri declared that Ogazi “has satisfied the requirements of APC constitution and guidelines, and scored the highest number of votes,” and was returned elected as candidate for the constituency.

In Lafia/Obi Federal Constituency, Mohamed A. A. Almokoura secured an affirmation vote of 45,000 after his opponent, I., withdrew from the contest.
“Mohamed A. A. Almakura has satisfied the requirements of the APC constitution and guidelines, and scored the highest number of votes, and is hereby declared the winner of the primary election,” Guri said.
The committee chairman disclosed that results from the remaining federal constituency were still being awaited due to logistics and terrain challenges.
“We have five federal constituencies from Nasarawa State, of which by now we have four federal constituencies that have just announced their results and declared the winners.
He added that the outstanding one, due to difficult terrain and some logistic issues, we are still on it, and by God’s grace, we’ll get the results tonight,” he added.
