By Daniel Ebi, Minna
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has expressed satisfaction with voter turnout for the council elections.
Governor Umaru Bago stated this shortly after he voted at his Tswashagirabba polling unit 010, Landzun ward, Bida local government area of the state.
He said the turnout of voters, especially in his ward, is impressive, an indication of the acceptance of the system and the electoral process.
“This is an experience that will show the acceptance of democracy in Nigeria.
“The way the people came out here is unprecedented; even at the general elections, we didn’t have this number, so it means the populace trusts the system.”

According to the Governor, he appreciated the president for maintaining that sub-nationals conduct local government elections.
He enjoined voters to continue to conduct themselves orderly and wait patiently for the results to be announced while wishing the candidates success.
The member representing Bida /Gbako/Katcha federal constituency, Honourable Saidu Mohammed Abdullahi, and the Chairman of New Niger Development Projects, Mustapha Abubakar-Bida, who also cast their votes at the Ma’aji Hassan polling unit, Bida, described local government elections as credible, adding that the election speaks volumes of the people’s support for the developmental strides of the Bago administration.
Usman Manko Mohammed, the All Progressives Congress chairmanship candidate, also applauded the process and expressed optimism that the local government elections will be victorious.
