By: Ajiya Ayuba, Bauchi
The chairman of Bogoro Local Government Area, Bauchi State, Yakubu Lawi Sumi, has vowed to deliver the LGA to the candidates of Allied People’s Movement (APM) come August 17th council election and in the forthcoming 2027 general election.
Lawi made this known during the commissioning of projects which took place at the chairman’s official residence house.

He said that the August 17th council election and the 2027 general election will be win win for APM candidates.
The council chairman, Lawi vowed to join forces with other leaders to ensure that the governor, Bala Muhammed Abdulkadir wins the southern senatorial seat of the party come 2027 general election in the State.
Sumi, however, listed the completed projects to include the renovation of the chairman’s official residence, purchase and conversion of a guest house.
Others are; construction of market sheds at Kalambu and Gobbiya, reinforcement of a major bridge, and rehabilitation of 127 boreholes.
He said that previous administrations overlooked it because the LGA headquarters is distant from many villages.
“This house had been dilapidated for some time, but I saw it is important that the chairman should stay in the local government. It makes governance more effective,” he said.
To cut costs, the council converted a purchased building into a guest house for visiting officials.
In commerce, new sheds were built at the cattle market in Kalambu and the Gobbiya animal market, a major revenue source.
The council also reinforced a collapsing bridge linking Tafawa, Bogoro and other communities.
On water supply, Sumi said 127 boreholes that were non-functional when they assumed office have now been repaired.
“We assigned our councilors and gave them an advance to ensure all boreholes were put in order, and that was done,” he added.
Also speaking during the commissioning, the Gung Zaar of Zaar Chiefdom, His Royal Majesty Marcus Koko Yake, commended the good efforts of the local government Chairman for bringing so much development to the local government.

The Gung Zaar who was represented by the district head of Bogoro, Nuhu Tafida, urged residents to continue supporting the administration of governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir of the State.
He also called on farmers and herders to maintain peaceful coexistence for the development of the land.
