NSCDC boss, Nnadi bags award, grantees free, fair LG election in Ebonyi

The commandant of the Nigeria security and civil defense corps, NSCDC, Ebonyi state command, Francis Nnadi has vowed to collaborate with other security agencies to ensure free, fair and credible local government election in the state, scheduled to hold on 22nd August 2026.

Nnadi who bagged meritorious national award from Nigeria institute of Public Relations, NIPR, Ebonyi State chapter and Advocacy for peace and values re-orientation Abuja, applauded the governor, Francis Nwifuru for assisting security agencies to ensure that Ebonyi is crime free.

The commandant, Nnadi made this known while addressing newsmen shortly after receiving the awards from the two groups; NIPR and APVRA, that took place at the NSCDC headquarters Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

“We work in collaborationwith other relevant agencies in security management to forestall any breakdown of laws and order, and that’s what has given rise to peace that we are witnessing today in the state.

“Indeed, the synergy among all the security agencies has been tremendous.

“Our major stakeholders, leaders,traditional rulers, among others have assisted the security agencies to make sure that everybody is safe.

“we have NSCDC offices across the 13 local governments of the state.we have done enough deployment to make sure that the law and order is guaranteed before, during, and after the elections. 

“It’s going to be a very peaceful LG election.By working in synergy with the police,DSS and other agencies to make sure that we have a free and fair election for the state” he stated.

In their separate reactions, the state chairperson of NIPR, Agatha Orji-Egwu applauded the NSCDC commandant, Nnadi for his leadership ingenuity, which according to her, contributed to the peace and order being witnessed in the command, and Ebonyi state in general.

The chairperson, Orji-Egwu said the award is based on Nnadi’s excellent leadership, peace advocacy, security of the nation in particular Ebonyi State, community development and nation building.

Orji-Egwu called on leaders in Nigeria to keep faith with God for the absolute peace and development of the nation.

She, however warned against fake news in Nigeria, urging public relations officers in Nigeria to lead the way by ensuring that all their publications are factual and verifiable. 

Responding, the national director of Advocacy for peace and values re-orientation Abuja, Abraham Oyibo commended, Nnadi for his outstanding contribution to the peaceful co-existence of citizens in Ebonyi state.
