Insecurity: ‘Work with other security agencies to minimize crimes in Nigeria – Argungu tells police Constables

The Chairman of the Nigeria Police Service Commission, Rtrd DIG Hashimu Argungu on Thursday urged the newly recruited police Constables to work with Security agencies to eliminate criminals in Nigeria.
He made this known during the 2022 police graduation of 212 constables of the zone 12, comprises of Bauchi and Gombe states, held at the Police training school, Yelwa in Bauchi State.
Argungu who was represented by the police service commission procurement officer, Ahmed Aliyu urged the new officers to make sure that they make Nigeria proud.
He said that the police service Commission will continue to support them in their carrier progression to be predictable with the establishment of the rules and regulations.
“I believe you are with the constitutional mandate of the commission which is provided in section 153 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended”
The police service Commission is vested with the powers to appoint which include of recruitment, enlistment, to promote and to dismissed and exercise disciplinary control over members of the Nigeria police force except the Inspector General of Police.
According to Argungu, “There is need to remind you that our nation’s has a lot of security challenges of banditry, kidnapping, arm robbery and terrorism among others”
He said that the Federal Government under the leadership of president Ahmed Bola Tinubu has given listening ear to manpower improvement and provision of needed logistics support. Adding that it’s obvious that the Nigeria police force need of the support.
He informed them that the commission will be monitoring the activities of the constables and will not hesitate to sanction any of them who deviated from the time tested established police rules of engagement and be committed gallantry to duty.
“Remember that the office of the constables is a signifies office and deserve respect and dignity for the development of the country. The commission expect that you conduct yourself in a manner deserving police officer”
The Chairman of the police service commission, retired DIG Hashimu Argungu charge the newly recruited constables to go out and protect the government good gesture and work with other security agencies to eliminate the issue of security challenges that is affecting the country.
While congratulating them for the successful completing the training and the nation that have found them worthy to wear the uniform of the Nigeria Police Force.
