Insecurity: Troops kill gunmen kingpin, 3 others in Imo

Troops of the Joint Task Force Operation UDO KA on Tuesday said it has killed terrorists gang leader, one Tochukwu aka Ojoto and three others in Ihittukwa and Orsumoghu in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.
The Force Commander Joint Task Force Operation UDO KA; Maj Gen Hassan DADA made this known in a statement signed and issued to newsmen on Tuesday.
He said that the gang leader, late Tochukwu aka Ojoto and his criminal elements have been making efforts to establish Camp in the general area and other places.
DADA noted that the troops through a reliable Intel had on 6 May 2024 cleared the general area of Udda, Ihittukwa and Orsumoghu in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.
According to him: “During the special clearance operations troops came in contact with the terrorists who expectantly employed Improvised Explosive Device IEDs to stop the advancing troops.
“The gallant joint troops with superior fire power forced the criminals to withdraw in disarray. In the encounter, 4 of the irredentists were neutralized and others escaped with gunshots wounds.
The Force Commander Joint Task Force Operation UDO KA, Dada revealed that one of the commanders, Tochukwu aka Ojoto was in charge of Ihietukwa Command, despite many charms on his body was neutralized.
Items recovered from the hideouts include, one AK 47 Rifle with two magazines, two automatic pump action guns, three handheld Baofeng radios, one laptop and one Techno phone.
Other items include; car keys, substance suspected to be Marijuana, Quantity 5 IEDs, IEDs making materials, batteries used in detonation of the IEDs and assorted charms.
Maj Gen Hassan DADA however, assured all citizens of the Joint Task Force commitment to ensure peace and stability in the south east region.
