Defilement : 4 arraigned, remanded in Anambra Correctional Centre

No fewer than four persons have been arraigned and remanded in a correctional Centre at Awka, Anambra state capital, by the Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence court sitting in Awka, Anambra State capital, over defilement of four girls in separate cases.

The suspects, it was gathered, will await further court  proceedings now that they have been arraigned by the State Police Command and subsequently remanded.

Reacting, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Tochukwu Ikenga, (SP), disclosed that the Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu, has reassured the public of its unwavering commitment to the protection of children and other vulnerable persons in the State, while also warning all offenders that such acts will not go unpunished.

He reiterated the State Police command’s resolve to ensure a crime free Anambra state irrespective of whose ox is gored
