Husband, wife remanded over abuse of 10 years old boy in Anambra

The Police Command in Anambra state has disclosed that it has secured the remand of Mr Chukwudi Chukwuyere, aged 40 years and Mrs Chisom Chukwuyere, wife, aged 30 years, in a Correctional Centre over their alleged involvement in the abuse of a 10-year-old boy in Isiowulu, Anambra State.

According to the state Police Public Relations Officer,  PPRO, Tochukwu Ikenga, (SP),  the suspects were arraigned in court following the conclusion of preliminary investigations into the case, which attracted public concern after reports and video footage of the victim surfaced on social media.

He stated that to this end, the Anambra State Police Command commended the residents of the area for their vigilance, cooperation, and timely provision of information that led to the rescue of the child.

He assured that the child would receive all the necessary medical attention, while the suspects were apprehended to face justice over the atrocities they committed.

His words, “Anambra State Police Command remains committed to promoting justice and the protection of human rights in line with the vision of the Inspector General of Police. 

“Further developments would be communicated accordingly,” he assured
