By Uchenna Okeh Abakaliki
The former South East zonal Youths leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Moses Odii who among other stakeholders of various political parties in Onicha LGA that defected to the African Democratic Party, ADC, have vowed to collapse their structures into ADC.
Odii, a former coordinator of Onicha Development centre, amongst other defectors, said that the internal crisis and other challenges rocking PDP, LP and APC, was the reason that prompted their defection into ADC.
The defection took place at Amarato ward in Isu community, Onicha local government area of Ebonyi State.
According to him: “Our people love truth, and the ADC has the truth to say, and the truth must be unveiled.I stand to say that from today onwards, that we are collapsing the Onicha local government into ADC.
“From today, that ADC will be the song that will be singing in the Onicha local government for the freedom of our people, for the liberation of our Federal Republic of Nigeria from the hands of the poverty APC.

“I want to say categorically that there are some stakeholders who are supposed to be here, but because of time, they are not here, but they said that I should send their greetings to you, that you will still see more massive movement of other political parties to ADC.
“That APC has also been moved out of us, and they can never come back to rule Nigeria again. The APC you see today, you shall see them no more. And the ADC shall stand and represent the APC.
“And we are going to make sure that our stakeholders, our women, our Youths, both the adult, the young and the old, shall be members of the ADC in Onicha local government entire and upon stress” he stated.
In a remark, the chairman of Amarato ward, Nelson Okonkwo said: “We are here to welcome many people that want to join us in ADC.To make Nigeria a better.I’ve registered the defectors in my register here. I’m a full member of ADC.
“I’ve issued them a card as a member of ADC. Many stakeholders are calling out that they are going to join us in ADC to make it a better place in Nigeria.
Also, the Onicha local government chairman of ADC, Uzor Charlse, said; “The gathering today is an event to welcome some of the decampees into ADC.
“Some decampees from PDP, APC and Labour Party into the ADC. You can see the crowd here is because they are tired of Nigeria. And they also want to join in and identify with ADC” he stated.
The state chairman of ADC, Mrs Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor said: “ADC has come to provide everything you need. Your welfare, the quality health care, basic social amenities to the people. This is not a time that you vote somebody into power when the person climbs there.

“The person will not remember you again. This is a party, if you look at our manifestos and our logo, you’ll see that this is a party that carries one another. It’s not about winning an election.
“It’s about making a change. We are not into ADC because we want to contest for one thing or the other. We are in ADC because we want to change our destinies.
“Because if we do not put the right leaders, we will not be able to go far. You see so many people who go to the hospital because they don’t have quality health care. They will just die.
“And these are some preventable deaths. But because of the type of leaders we have in the country, they were not able to provide what they have voted there to do. So, this time around, we are taking our destinies in our hands.
“So, I want to thank you, the people that have defected to our party today. I want to thank you for making that bold decision. Because it is not easy” she stated.
