2027: Ex-Reps candidate, Aliuna, Excos, BoTs Set for Inauguration as Nwifuru’s PU Mobilizers

The Ebonyi State executives, Board of Trustees (BoT) members and state liaison officers of Governor Francis Nwifuru’s Polling Unit Mobilizers are set for inauguration on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, in Abakaliki, the state capital.

Among those billed for inauguration is a former House of Representatives candidate for the Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency, Hon. Aliuna Godwin, who is expected to serve as the State Liaison Officer, Media.

Speaking with journalists shortly after his appointment, Aliuna pledged that the polling unit mobilizers would deploy their structures and networks to mobilize support for Governor Nwifuru ahead of the 2027 general election.

He said the group would work within its capacity to mobilize voters and supporters across the state, particularly at the grassroots, in support of the governor’s political agenda.

Aliuna described Governor Nwifuru’s expected victory in the 2027 governorship election as a priority for the group, citing what he described as the administration’s achievements in infrastructure, governance and the delivery of democratic dividends across the state.

According to him, the governor’s programmes and projects have continued to generate visibility for the administration, particularly in areas of infrastructure, empowerments and grassroots development.

The veteran journalist also commended the State Coordinator of Governor Nwifuru’s Polling Unit Mobilizers, Ogbuefi Zaccheaus, for initiating what he described as a strategic grassroots mobilization structure aimed at reaching rural communities and supporters across the state.

Aliuna said the mobilization initiative would help strengthen engagement with voters at the polling-unit level and create a wider platform for political participation ahead of the 2027 election.

He disclosed that Governor Nwifuru, the State Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Stanley Okoro Emegha, members of the State Executive Council, as well as prominent stakeholders and political leaders in the state, are expected to attend the inauguration.

The inauguration is scheduled to hold at Re-Meritona Hotels and Suites, Abakaliki, by 10:00 a.m.

The event is expected to formally usher in the newly constituted leadership and liaison structure of the polling unit mobilization group ahead of preparations for the 2027 general election.
