Security team apprehends Kidnap Syndicate in Benue

Security personnel on Sunday uncovered the hideout of a kidnap syndicate that has been terrorizing residents of Otukpo Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue state.
They also arrested three members of the five-man gang in the process, while two other members of the syndicate escaped and are currently at large.
The Benue State Command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Catherine Anene confirmed the development.
According to her, the operation was ongoing also while some suspects were also arrested in relation to the crime.
In a related matter the chairman, Otukpo LGA, Maxwell Ogiri, confirmed the arrest of three members of the kidnap syndicate.

“We learnt from an intelligence report that they are a gang of five kidnappers. Three have been apprehended. Security agents are going after the remaining two and their collaborators.”
“The kidnappers were arrested at Ogoli-Ugboju, on Sunday, based on an intelligence report received by security agents in the local government area.
“We also learned that the gang has been giving the people of Otukpo and its surrounding communities sleepless nights for quite a while before their arrest on Sunday”, the chairman said.
He gave the names of the suspects to include;Ibrahim Salleh, Ashimu and Abuh Umaru.
