Niger to storm NSF With 100 contingent

Niger  Sports Ministry says the State is to storm  the 22nd  edition of the National  Sports festival  hosted by Ogun State  with 100  strong government.

The State contingent consisting of athletes,  coaches,  and officials is aimed at ensuring that the  State puts up a decent showing at the national Sports Fiesta. 

Niger state Commissioner for Youth and Sports development, Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim Gulbin-Boka disclosed  this while  receiving  officials  of the State SWAN  executives who paid him a courtesy visit  at his office.

He said the 100-man contingent, including coaches and officials, will be representing Niger state at the 22nd edition of National Sports Festival (NSF) slated to kick off on 20th of May.

The Commissioner used the occasion to give an update on the level of preparations and readiness of the state contingent  to this 

 year’s edition of the festival.

Gulbin-Boka disclosed  that the  State will feature in 13 different sporting  even as he  hinted that the state had  performed creditably  in the zonal eliminations which took place in Jos, Plateau state 

The Commissioner said Sports “I can confirm to you now that we have a 100-man contingent, including coaches and officials to represent Niger state in the multi-sport events”.

“Niger state will feature 13 different sports, including lawn tennis, athletics, Squash, Scrabble, Table tennis, Badminton, Taekwondo, handball and a few others”, he said. 

Gulbin-Boka told the SWAN officials, “As you can see, we are making final arrangements for the contingent to start taking off any moment from now”.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner has expressed appreciation to sports philanthropists and stakeholders, including SWAN for supporting the overall growth and development of sports.

Though there were noticeable hitches in the overall preparations, Gulbin-Boka expressed optimism that Niger state would have an  impressive outing at the festival.
