NDLEA Arrests 3 Suspects, seizes 2.687 tones of Cannabis in C’River

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,(NDLEA) Cross River State Command has arrested 3 Suspects, seizes 2.687 tones of substance suspected to be Cannabis Sativa and seeds in Cross River 

The state commander of the Agency, Umebuali Racheal made the disclosure while briefing newsmen in Calabar yesterday shortly after parading the suspects and showing them round the bags of the substance

Umebuali said on a tip-off, Men of the Agency went on a surveillance with back-up by a team of security operatives in the State to add to that of NDLEA that led to the successful arrest of the suspects in Obere – Akai Village in Akamkpa local government area of the State

According to the State Commander,”163 kg of Cannabis Sativa Seeds can be planted in over a thousand hectares and this is very dangerous especially to the Youths who indulge in the habit of patronizing this substance” 

She advised the people especially the Youths who are in the habit of taking this substance to desist from it because it destroys their future.

The suspects, Friday Archibong Joshua 47, Abraham Anthony Willy 21 and Utibe David Okon 24 all from Akwa Ibom State. One of the suspects, Friday Archibong said he is only a landlord and denied every idea of the substance
