The governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has announced the state’s decision to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The move, he said, is aimed at aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and securing a brighter future for Adamawa.

Fintiri recalled the people’s overwhelming support in 2019 and 2023, saying, “We have remained popular in your hearts, and our party – the PDP – has been with you.”

He outlined the administration’s achievements, including improved security, infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and empowerment programs for youth and women.

The Governor emphasized that the decision to join the APC was not taken lightly, but was guided by the need for long-term stability, development, and prosperity for Adamawa State.

“It was not driven by personal ambition nor by convenience,” he said.

Fintiri assured citizens that the move would bring more opportunities, infrastructure, and benefits to the state.

“We are moving into the APC with all our structures, energy, and political machinery to confer benefit to our state, the nation, and our people,” he declared.

The Governor urged supporters to register massively in the APC and gear up for a future that is assured.

“This isn’t elementary arithmetic; it is a political geometry that places every number in its right place,” he said, quoting the late Senate President, Gov. Fintiri Chuba Okadigbo.

Fintiri reiterated his commitment to delivering selfless service to the people, promising more infrastructure, schools, hospitals, and empowerment programs.

“We shall confer on you the pride of being called an indigene of Adamawa state,” he said.
