Hardship: NEMA denies looting of its warehouse by suspected hungry Nigerians in Abuja
The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, on Sunday denied looting of it’s warehouse in Abuja, by suspected hungry Nigerians.
The Director General of the Agency, Mustapha Habib Ahmed made this known on Sunday through in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Abuja.
Recall that thousands of Nigerians who as a result of hardship and sufferings had invaded the warehouse suspected to be owned by NEMA in Abuja, and looted food items and other valuable materials.
Mustapha who reacted to the development, however directed Zonal Directors and Heads of Operations to strengthen security in and around the Agency’s offices and warehouses nationwide.
The statement reads in part: “The attention of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has been drawn to media reports on Sunday alleging that the Agency’s warehouse was looted by some hoodlums in Abuja
“This is to clarify that the looted warehouse does not belong to NEMA. However, the Agency sympathizes with owners of the looted facility.
“To forestall any security breach at NEMA facilities, NEMA directed Zonal Directors and Heads of Operations to strengthen security in and around the Agency’s offices and warehouses nationwide.
