EFCC arrests 40 suspected Internet fraudsters in Niger State

Operatives of the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 40 suspected internet fraudsters in Bida and Minna (Chanchaga)Local Government Areas of Niger State.
In a statement made available to the media by Dele Oyewale, head of Media and public in Minna on Wednesday.
He disclosed that they were arrested following credible intelligence that linked them to suspected fraudulent internet activities.
He further stated that the suspects were busted from their different hide outs from the two main towns in the state, but was silent if they are students of any of the tertiary institutions.

According to him, Items recovered from them include three cars, eight power generating sets, one Hisense air conditioner, and two power stabilizers.
Other items include 10 motorcycles, eight laptop computers, four blue tooth speakers and 60 android phones.
Also recovered were fetish items that included three calabashes, adorned with feathers, traditionally made soap and sponge, a bottle of hot drink, 20 cowries, a waist bead and four lady’s underwear.
They would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
