The Governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s has vowed to secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming 2027 general election.
He emphasized that his defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC, marks the new chapter in the state’s politics.
Gov. Fintiri made this known while addressing stakeholders during in a meeting in Yola.
Fintiri emphasized that his defection was a strategic decision aimed at strengthening the APC and ensuring victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
“We’re not here to disrupt, but to consolidate peace, stability, and development in Adamawa State,” Fintiri declared.

He commended the President and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, for supporting the defection process, and urged APC members to warmly welcome the new entrants.
The Governor pledged loyalty and submission to the party leadership, saying, “We’ll continue to deliver services expected by the people, and grow stronger.”
He highlighted the state’s achievements, citing international recognition as one of the top-performing states in the country.
Fintiri’s move has been hailed by APC leaders, including the National Vice Chairman (North-East), Mustapha Salihu PhD Sa’i, who described it as a significant boost to the party’s prospects in Adamawa State.
The Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Miaha, expressed confidence that Adamawa has the capacity to deliver victory for the APC in future elections.
The State APC Chairman, Idris Shuaibu, thanked Governor Fintiri and Malam Nuhu Ribadu for ensuring a smooth transition, assuring the Governor of the party’s loyalty and support.

As Fintiri embarks on grassroots meetings to solidify the new political alignment, analysts predict a major shift in Adamawa’s political landscape.
‘With the Governor’s leadership, the APC is poised to make significant gains in the state.
