ADC chairman orders immediate arrest, prosecution of imposters in Ebonyi

The chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Ebonyi State chapter, Mrs. Jennifer Adibe Nwafor on Friday called on the security agencies to immediately arrest and prosecute all the imposters in the state claiming to be factional leaders of the party.

Adibe made this known to newsmen in Abakaliki while reacting to the purported kangaroo election conducted by, one Sunday Opoke, a former governorship candidate of YPP, and produced, one Kenneth Oziomaeze as state chairman.

She inferred that both, Opoke and Oziomaeze are imposters and were never members of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Ebonyi state, emphasizing that any elective positions in the party can only be done through a Congress, which according  to her, will hold next year, 2026.

“Oziomaeze is not a member of our party. He has not registered into the party.So I saw the news circulating online when he claimed that he had emerged as chairman.

“So, we are still intact. In fact, we just came back from the NEC meeting of ADC held on 29th July 2025 at Abuja.The meeting was held at Chelsea Hotel in Abuja.So, at that meeting, the only thing we did was to desolve the national leadership, and then the new ones were inaugurated.So, the new leadership, led by Senator David Mark, also assured all the state chairmen that we are going to work together.

And, he also charged us to make sure that we get more people into the party in the states. And from what I heard, Kenneth Oziomaeze, what they did, they formed an NGO as a support group to ADC, named the National Coalition Alliance.

So like we said, our door is open for any NGOs that are supporting us.They are all welcome to support the ADC in the states.So, the public should be aware of these persons parading themselves as the new Excos of ADC in the state.They are criminals

“And Sunday Opoke, who inaugurated them was a one-time governorship candidate of YPP, and still a member of YPP. He has not also registered into ADC.So he’s not a member of our party, but he’s welcome into our party if he wants to join our party.

“Our door is open, and we’ve not closed our door for membership registration. So it’s open for new entrants who want to join our party. So, the public should be aware, and the security agencies too, to take note of these criminals, who have formed themselves to deceive Ebonyians.

“And anybody dealing with these persons should be wary that they are on their own. Because they are not the true picture of what they present themselves.They are not the leaders of ADC in the state.

“I still remain the state chairman of ADC in the state.But tomorrow we’ll also be harmonizing the structures in the Ebonyi central zone.This is to also get involved with the people who have joined us, to get them involved in the process.So that we all can work together. 

“So, as it stands, I’m still the chairman.We are still working together with the National leadership of ADC.And the Kenneth Oziomaeze is a criminal parading himself.So everybody should be aware of these persons.

“They should be wary of them.And in general, people should be wary of these persons. Theyare sharing forms.Claiming that they are going to give grants to Ebonyians. This is a way to deceive these people to get their details.They say they should submit their CVs.

“People of Ebonyi State should be aware of these people.They are after their money.By way of telling them that they want to give them grants, they will be asking them to give their money.

“So, they should be wary of them. So, if they (Ebonyians) need any information, they should feel free to also come to our party secretariat to get the proper information that they need.

“And, I’m calling on the security agencies to go after these persons.Who are claiming to be leaders of ADC in Ebonyi state” she stated
