Kogi Assembly Confirms Saliu Ali as SUBEB Board Member

The Kogi State House of Assembly has resolved to issue a letter of commendation to the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Commission of Nigeria, Mustapha Abdullahi, in recognition of his outstanding vision, dedication, and contributions to national development.

The resolution followed a motion moved by Suleiman Abdulrazak, who said the commendation was in appreciation of Abdullahi’s pivotal role in facilitating the establishment of the Barefoot Renewable Energy College at the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, Kogi State.

Leading the debate, Abdulrazak described Abdullahi as a nation-builder whose quiet but impactful leadership has continued to deliver tangible benefits to Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole. 

He urged the Assembly to formally acknowledge the Energy Commission chief’s exemplary patriotism, humility, and unwavering commitment to community development.

In a related development, the Assembly confirmed the appointment of Saliu Muhammad Ibn Ali as a Permanent Member of the Kogi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) following his screening at the Assembly Complex in Lokoja.

During plenary, lawmakers described the nominee as a disciplined, hardworking, and experienced public servant, expressing confidence in his capacity to support the board’s mandate of improving the quality of basic education across the state.

Chairman of the screening committee and Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Aliyu Umar Yusuf, urged the newly confirmed board member to deploy his wealth of experience in advancing the objectives of SUBEB.

He also charged him to remain transparent, committed, and diligent in the discharge of his responsibilities.

Responding after his confirmation, Saliu Muhammad Ibn Ali expressed appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for finding him worthy of the appointment. 

He also thanked members of the Assembly for their confidence in him, pledging to justify the trust reposed in him by working diligently to strengthen basic education delivery in Kogi State.
