Insecurity: Abubakar speaks on rescue of kidnap victims in Oyo

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has reacted to the rescue of abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State, describing the development as encouraging in the fight against insecurity across the country.

In a statement issued on Friday through his media team, the Sultan commended the efforts of security agencies and all those involved in the successful rescue operation.

He said the rescue of the victims demonstrated that coordinated security operations could yield positive results when carried out effectively and with commitment.

While welcoming the development, the Sultan urged the Federal Government and security agencies not to relent in their efforts to tackle the growing security challenges facing the country.

He specifically appealed to the authorities to intensify efforts to secure the release of schoolchildren who were recently abducted in Borno State.

According to the Sultan, every kidnapped victim deserves urgent attention, regardless of where the incident occurred, stressing that the safety of citizens should remain a top priority.

He expressed concern over the recurring cases of abduction, particularly those involving schoolchildren, and called for sustained measures to prevent similar incidents.
